Selina

The nomadic place to stay, work, and live

Selina takes unused spaces, like former factories, schools, asylums, or hotels, and turns them into boutique hotels and coworking spaces catering to travelers at every price point with prices starting at as little as $10/night. The company works with local communities to provide curated tours and fitness classes as well as homegrown meals, and decorates properties with local artwork and furniture from local artisans. Based in Panama City, Selina raised $95 million in funding from the Abraaj Group and WeWork in 2018.

Selina is not just accommodation. Yes, we offer (gorgeous, beautifully-designed) places to stay. More than that, we offer a place to connect with others. Be inspired by stunning beaches and lush jungles. Fuel your creativity in energetic urban centers. Catch a wave, dance until dawn, or tap into a new level of productivity with surfing, activities, co-working, and community by Selina. If you’re looking for a unique, immersive, purpose-filled experience, you’re looking for Selina.

In 2007 Rafael Museri and Daniel Rudasevski were living in Pedasí, a small fishing town in Panama. They ran real estate projects and while developing the town, they began to build a tight-knit social circle with locals and travelers.

The two friends had a project in mind. After traveling the world and staying in many places, they believed they could begin to change the world of hospitality and share this community with other travelers. This is how the first Selina was born in Venao, a surf town near Pedasí in 2014. Once the model was proven to be a success in Venao, the expansion began.

Selina now provides everything that young nomads need to live their lifestyle, from accommodation and local food to co-working spaces, wellness programmes and leisure activities. Bringing together a community of like-minded individuals, Selina additionally offers libraries, home cinemas, a living room to feel at home, laundry facilities, equipment rentals, tours and experiences in the surrounding areas of every location, a volunteering program at the service of every local community and a complete global interns platform. Selina is the new way of life for those who have chosen to travel the world instead of living in a fixed place. Selina is an ecosystem for nomads.
